Ælfwynn South Bedfordshire Moot is committed to helping create and maintain safer Pagan community spaces for all who attend our events, gatherings, discussions, rituals, and online communities.
We believe Pagan spaces should be rooted in respect, consent, inclusivity, accountability, and community care.
As organisers, we recognise the importance of safeguarding within spiritual and community environments and are committed to:
- Promoting a culture of mutual respect and informed consent
- Challenging harassment, abuse, coercion, discrimination, and predatory behaviour
- Supporting safer participation for women, girls, vulnerable adults, LGBTQ+ people, neurodivergent people, disabled people, and all members of our community
- Encouraging healthy boundaries within spiritual, teaching, and leadership relationships
- Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns raised within our spaces
- Providing clear community expectations through our safeguarding and safer spaces guidance
We are committed to fostering environments where:
- People can explore Paganism safely and without fear of harassment or intimidation
- Consent and personal boundaries are respected
- Diversity of path, practice, identity, and experience is welcomed
- Harmful behaviour is addressed rather than ignored
- Community wellbeing is treated as a shared responsibility
The moot supports ongoing conversations around safeguarding and safer Pagan practice across the wider Pagan community and recognises the value of collaborative work that promotes safety, trust, education, and accountability within spiritual spaces.
