Standing just a stone’s throw from the ancient banks of Waulud’s Bank, Luton Henge is a stunning contemporary sacred space made from the very bones of the Chilterns. Built in 2025 from locally quarried Totternhoe chalk, the installation features eight standing stones centered around a five-metre chalk circle. It was designed to align with seasonal landmarks, acting as a living calendar that connects the urban heart of Marsh Farm back to the rhythmic cycles of the sun and stars.

The site is more than just an artwork; it is a “new antiquity” where the community used traditional “chalk packing” techniques to create the ground beneath your feet. For the modern seeker, it offers a rare opportunity to engage with a site specifically built for gathering and reflection. Whether you are there to mark a solstice or simply to sit on its handcrafted wooden benches, Luton Henge feels like a bridge between eras, a place where the rave culture of the 90’s, the Neolithic spirit of the River Lea, and today’s community all meet in a circle of white stone.
